The most difficult part of owning a business is finding good help.
I think that plenty of small business owners would tell you that securing responsible, trustworthy employees is a very difficult part of the game.
You never know when someone is going to let you down, steal from you, or stop showing up to the job. I have struggled with this many times in my life as a small business owner. Unfortunately, I find that the same struggle pertains to finding good service workers in almost any industry. For instance, I have rarely found a mechanic, electrician, or HVAC technician that I trust. That’s why I am extremely upset to report that my favorite heating and cooling worker is not going to be available for residential indoor air handling concerns anymore. For the past 10 years I have been calling the same heating, cooling, and air Quality control repair shop and requesting the same indoor air quality control specialist for my routine air conditioning and furnace repairs. I love my HVAC technician because we have a mutual understanding when it comes to my HVAC equipment. Namely, I want him to take care of my air conditioning system and forced air furnace as if they were his own. I have never had a disappointing experience with my HVAC technician. Until… The other day when he told me he was switching to Commercial heating and cooling repair. He was no longer going to be a residential HVAC technician for the sake of earning more money. On the spot, I offered to match his commercial HVAC repair fees, even if it meant I paid double my usual HVAC expenses. You can’t let go of good help after you find it.
