Thankfully the door isn’t very heavy, but it still hurts a great deal.
My neighbor warned me not to work on my HVAC unit without help or guidance. I honestly didn’t think it was a big deal to take the machine apart and look for the problem. My neighbor is an electrician and another neighbor works as an engineer. Both guys suggested calling in a professional. Neither one of them offered to help me with the problem. I waited until Saturday to take the machine apart. The first thing I did was remove the cover from the front of the machine. The front of the cover is almost like a door. It has a swivel hinge on the top that allows the front cover of the HVAC unit to stay open while work is performed. It resembles a car hood without the arm to hold the cover in place. The cover has always stayed in one position, but last Saturday when I was working on the HVAC unit, the hinges weren’t working properly and the door closed and hit me in the head. Thankfully the door isn’t very heavy, but it still hurts a great deal. I sat down on the chair for a couple of minutes to gather my bearings and awareness. The longer I sat on the chair looking at the HVAC unit, the more I realized that I should contact a professional. I called one of my neighbors and I asked the guy if he could recommend a company in town that handles repairs and installation work. My neighbor was happy to provide me with the names of several different contractors.
